If you think about it, the suit of Wands are the only suit that are “alive” so to speak. They are budding with leaves and represent our passion, our energy, our ideas and things we want to create. I’m taking a break from the normal card by card reviews to talk about the super exciting BLUE BLOOD MOON! EEEEK!
Why is this moon so special?
First of all, it’s a blue moon. This means it’s the second full moon in a month. But it’s not just a blue moon. It’s a LUNAR ECLIPSE! This is the first blue moon total lunar eclipse in the US since March of 1866. It’s also a SUPERMOON, which means the moon is at the closest point of its orbit to earth, aka the “perigee”. This means the moon looks bigger and brighter than usual. The eclipse will also give the moon a reddish hue, which is why it’s described as a “blood moon”. Alternatively, some Native American tribes refer to this moon as a “snow moon”.
In astrology, a full moon represents the end of a cycle. It’s a time to release things that don’t serve us and to move closer to who we’d like to be.
This particularly special full moon is happening in Leo. It’s a call to act from the heart, to follow our passions and do what we really love.
Here’s a full-moon tarot spread to try during this special full moon. Enjoy!
