New Moon in Pisces 5-Card Spread

The new moon in Pisces is coming up on March 17th or March 18th depending on where you are in the world.  This is a great time to visualize where you are and how everything fits together – a big-picture view.  The double fishy sign in all about creating balance.  Pisces also rules the feet – it’s a grounding energy that connects us to the world and helps guide our feet in the right direction.  This is the last sign in the zodiac and a perfect time for self reflection and healing as we move into Aries season later this month.  I had so many ideas for this spread, I couldn’t keep it to my normal 3-card new moon spread.  Let me know what you think!

The Full Moon in Virgo is a special full moon because it’s the last full moon before spring. The Virgo energy calls on our inner grounded perfectionist as well as our inner humanitarian.  The energy of this full moon is more receptive than action oriented – much like the Virgo’s Hermit card, so a big ceremony isn’t necessary.  This simple three-card spread provides guidance for a meditation on what to release, what to manifest and how to cultivate a mind of compassion as we move forward.

Valentine’s Day 3-Card Spread

BLUE/BLOOD MOON!

I’m taking a break from the normal card by card reviews to talk about the super exciting BLUE BLOOD MOON!  EEEEK!

Why is this moon so special?

First of all, it’s a blue moon.  This means it’s the second full moon in a month.  But it’s not just a blue moon.  It’s a LUNAR ECLIPSE!  This is the first blue moon total lunar eclipse in the US since March of 1866.  It’s also a SUPERMOON, which means the moon is at the closest point of its orbit to earth, aka the “perigee”.  This means the moon looks bigger and brighter than usual.  The eclipse will also give the moon a reddish hue, which is why it’s described as a “blood moon”.  Alternatively, some Native American tribes refer to this moon as a “snow moon”.

In astrology, a full moon represents the end of a cycle.  It’s a time to release things that don’t serve us and to move closer to who we’d like to be.

This particularly special full moon is happening in Leo.  It’s a call to act from the heart, to follow our passions and do what we really love.

New Moon in Capricorn Spread

The New Moon is the perfect time to set an intention.  What do you want to create?  With the new moon in Capricorn, this is especially meaningful since Capricorns are all about ambition, persistence, and getting things done in spite of obstacles.  This new moon can set us up to manifest our 2018 goals and we can carry this intention through our year ahead.
